My name is Amanda and I was FINALLY diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2016. I feel like I’m starting out at an anonymous meeting or something. Unfortunately my addictions are expensive like Disney and ya know shoes! LOL I spent 13 years in the Air Force and loved almost every minute of it. I’ll get into detail about my career in the Air Force at a later date to understand the almost part. I grew up in a tiny town in Iowa and when I say tiny I mean not even a stoplight tiny. We do have one four-way stop sign intersection though. There are as many churches as there are bars if that helps you picture this in your mind a bit. Over time I’ll blog a bit about growing up in this tiny town.
Starting a blog was inspired over the summer of 2019 when I met an amazing woman after moving to Georgia. We were just chatting one day and she said “you feel you need a purpose.” No she did not mean this in a harsh way and it just hit me like the ping of a dodge ball. I need to reach out to more people who have this shitty ass disease and make sure they don’t feel alone as I have many times before. So many social media sites are available for support but they seem so serious. I’ve always been a smartass and love to make people laugh. Life is too short to be upset or unhappy. Although, I’ve allowed myself to get to a dark place before. When I say make people laugh there needs to be a disclaimer of having really bad jokes. My family loves them!! LOL
My blogging experience is made up of searching on Pinterest and one project on creating a web page in college. So buckle up and get ready to have a good laugh or two as I share my life with fibromyalgia with the world.
